Sanur Beach – Relaxing Introductions
The beauty of a vacation in Sanur derives from the charming pace of life seamlessly blending with quality restaurants, charming cafes, and the sliver of golden sand glinting on the beach against the sapphire waters of the Indian Ocean. The hillsides glow emerald and jade hues from the rustling palms, lush ferns, and productive rice fields. Your private transfer meets you at Ngurah Rai International Airport upon your arrival. The tiny lanes of Old Towns contain restaurants reminiscent of eating in a family home. The scent of turmeric and coconut milk emanates from the eateries. Locals and visitors stroll along the beachfront walk, the first ever built on the island, encompassing nearly three miles. Cafes contain fronts for unobstructed views of the water.
The scent of Balinese coffee drifts from the tables. Colorful wooden fishing boats speckle the shoreline with locals working on repairs. Old villas grace the boardwalk with cows grazing on the grassland sprouting to the west. You reach your luxurious accommodation and settle into the unique combination of beauty, charm, and ambiance sweeping across town. A walkway leads up the mountainside over one mile before reaching the walls of the fortified Podostrog Monastery. The small church was erected in the 12th century, with the adjacent looming figure of the larger church built in the 18th century. An engraving above the doorway contains an image of the double-headed eagle holding a snake in its claws, which is the symbol of Montenegro.

The hotel in Sanur was absolutely special! We highly recommend it. The resort in Ubud was also wonderful. The staff were great. We had no idea this town was such a vibrant place and would have loved more time to explore it, possibly from a walkable hotel.
Our guide and driver were wonderful and flexible when we needed to stop for a Diet Coke and iced cappuccino. We also felt that Zicasso's travel company was flexible with our changes as we went.
We did the Bali safari on our transfer day and it was a stop we really enjoyed.
Nice job, all involved!

Zicasso's travel agent did a wonderful job of arranging seamless, complex transfers from Java to Gili Air to Ubud, Bali, and provided great guides, drivers, and advice, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and local currency on arrival. We did have an issue with hotels not reserved until a couple of days ahead and he promptly resolved the problem.
Our agent was a very responsive and prompt communicator. We would recommend!

The itinerary was well-paced. The hotels were mostly great! The cars were very comfortable. The guides/drivers were prompt and made us feel very safe around crowded locations. The drivers knew the areas well and were skilled in driving on narrow, hilly roads with oncoming, crowded traffic. They provided us with a cold water bottle every day. Other than the hotel tax issue in Malaysia and the incorrect room assignment in Bali, this was an excellent trip. It rained in a few places, but the guide/drivers provided us with giant umbrellas to keep us dry. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Overall, Zicasso’s travel agent was excellent. The agent was very receptive to our requests, planned our trip very well based on our input, and every arrangement was seamless, without any hiccups.
Singapore is quite humid and can get hot, more than Texas. With walking everywhere, it can be uncomfortable, so perhaps plan to visit in the cooler months, based on local agents’ feedback.
Vietnam was a surprise in all dimensions. It had very good infrastructure. The travel agents took fantastic care of us and the trips to Ninh Bình, which included a bamboo boat tour, and Hạ Long Bay, with a private boat tour, were noteworthy and must-dos.
Bali was a magical and mystical land, with extremely polite and hospitable people and an extraordinary guide who was calm and facilitated our tour so well. The early-morning Mount Batur hike, though moderately strenuous, was worth it, as the sunrise was spectacular, and the trip to the Jagasari area was peaceful and so insightful. I highly recommend staying longer than the four days we stayed and perhaps changing the location to the coast and north side, as traveling within the island from one spot to another takes a long time. The highlight was the kechak dance performance. It gave us goosebumps.
The arrangements were wonderful, with great accommodations and transportation.
Thanks to our travel agent.
