Detailed Description

Central America has a little bit of magic for all ages. Finding the ruins of a Maya city deep in the rainforest with howler monkeys guarding crumbled avenues and then lazing away a day on a Caribbean beach with warm shallow waters for the children to safely play in. Feel the excitement of walking on a volcano or canoeing a wildlife-dappled river, or take a horse and carriage ride across the cobblestone of colonial Antigua. This is a region with something for everyone, whether gazing over the Pacific Ocean or wandering through the rainforest.

Your 3-week vacation across three countries is handcrafted for families of all ages and interests, taking in a mix of highlights across Guatemala, Belize, and Costa Rica. There will be lots of action as you travel to seven different destinations, but there will also be plenty of downtimes. Stay on a quiet Caribbean beach in Placencia, and then finish the vacation with several days on a Pacific Ocean beach. There will be something for everyone that makes Central America special in between.

Antigua provides a charming city experience and is a great introduction to the region. Fly direct to Flores for two Guatemalan days amid rainforest and Maya ruins, and then it is a short drive across the border to the beauty of Belize. Enjoy the wildlife and the cultural odyssey along the Macal River before your flight to the Caribbean and Placencia. Fly from Belize City to San Jose where your first Costa Rican destination will be the cloud forests and coffee plantations of Central Valley. Travel north for several days around the Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica’s most iconic destination, and then end your Central America family odyssey at Papagayo Peninsula on the Pacific Ocean.  Interested in browsing travelers’ Belize family vacation reviews? Costa Rica Travel Review: Catamaran Trip, Ziplining, National...

Everything was arranged thoughtfully, with time for "adventures" and downtime at terrific resorts to relax. All pick-ups, travel by limo, and drop-offs went as arranged. The drivers, guides, and hotel staff were all very pleasant and kind. Zicasso's tour operator did a great job planning our eight-day, family-of-10 trip to Costa Rica! We appreciated that most tours, hikes, and ocean experiences were small groups of just our group of 10. This made it a personal and annoyance-free experience all around. Thanks!

We had an unbelievably great trip! Everything went smoothly, was already lined up by Zicasso's tour company, and communication was excellent. The private drivers between locations were excellent and very informative. We could not have asked for a better experience!

Costa Rica Tour Review: Ziplining, Wildlife, 1 Week

We loved our trip. Zicasso's travel specialist did an awesome job of listening to what we wanted ahead of time and tailoring the itinerary to that.

We had one very minor issue where a tour was running late to pick us up and we were able to get in touch with him easily to make sure we were still on track, which he confirmed as they arrived. We'll reach out to them for sure when it's time to go back.
