Canada: Pacific to Peak

Six Glaciers, Canada.

What to expect on this itinerary

This is Canada at its most elemental, a 12-day journey of salt air, cedar, and ancient ice, designed around the country’s active, outdoor-first pace. Fly in through Vancouver and out through Calgary, with the open road doing most of the storytelling in between. Follow fjord-cut coastlines, wine-bright valleys, and glacier-ringed peaks. Evenings bring the soft luxury of lakeside tastings, hot mineral pools, and slow sunsets that linger on snow-capped horizons. This tour is best experienced from June through early October, when the passes are clear and the light lasts long into the evening.

Day 1

Vancouver - Embrace a Space Where Water Meets Mountain

Vancouver announces itself quietly through its harbor, a wall of peaks, and the aroma of the ocean threading through every neighborhood. As you settle in, take a slow walk through your surroundings and let the city introduce itself. The Pacific air carries a faint cedar sharpness you would expect from a city built on the edge of a forest, the mountains visible at the end of every northward street, and the ocean appearing between buildings when you least expect it. Head to Commercial Drive to treat yourself to a meal bursting with local and international flavors this evening. Dine on Vietnamese rice noodles and clean broths or the sublime flavors of Japanese raw fish, then satisfy your sweet tooth with a local Nanaimo bar, a chocolate nut, coconut, and custard confection that was invented in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island in the 1950s.
