Detailed Description

The world's greatest natural spectacles remain uninterrupted by roads or modern development. They continue to be wild and untamed, as pure now as they have been for millions of years. Accessing these great wildernesses is done on water on this luxury Amazon and Galapagos cruise itinerary: a river journey through the Amazon and a Pacific trip around the Galapagos Islands. Both cruises immerse you in the natural realm, and there's always a hypnotic view from the deck. Monkeys swing across the canopy and whales breach beneath the boat. Land excursions get you closer to the endemic worlds; basking sea lions on pristine beaches, tropical birds making echoed calls, iguanas that rest along the walking trail. Sometimes the waterway narrows, and you must continue by kayak, whereas other places provide lingering views into the vast scale of the ocean or jungle.

Your two five-day cruises are connected by two nights in the capital city Quito, a World Heritage Site that offers a relaxing dose of culture to the itinerary. The Amazon cruise travels along the Napo River, going through Yasuni National Park until you're on the border with Peru. River turtles and pink dolphins are amongst the sites, as you discover barely explored sections of the Amazon basin. Spend a day with a small jungle community and learn about the tribes that inhabit isolated parts of the wilderness. Then enjoy the bounty of the Limoncocha Biological Reserve, including looming views of the Amazon's gargantuan scale. All meals and guided excursions are included and the boat offers various social areas for watching the rainforest roll by.

By day eight you're in the Galapagos Islands, cruising in one of the archipelago's finest boats. It's a very different cruising experience to the Amazon, as you've swapped the thick engulfing canopy for uninterrupted ocean. Watch dolphins and whales from the spacious sundeck and feast your senses on gourmet food from the opulent restaurant. The boat's itinerary connects the premier destinations of the central Galapagos Islands cruises. Stand in a field covered with 500-pound giant tortoises on Santa Cruz, kayak alongside sea lions, admire flamingos wading through lagoons, walk across volcanic islands, and discover the eclectic wonder of the archipelago's wildlife. Incredible encounters with nesting seabirds are found on North Seymour Island while a range of activities allows you to fully explore the marine world. Choose to snorkel, take a glass-bottomed boat, or kayak amongst this oceanic beauty. Or simply sit back and enjoy the second of your unique cruises.

Ecuador Tour Review: Quito, Galapagos Islands, History,...

Zicasso's trip planner is excellent! She planned a personalized itinerary for me and my family, with activities for all different ages in our travel group. We truly enjoyed our experience in Quito and the Galápagos Islands.

Our tour guide did a wonderful job taking us around Quito and ensuring we got to fully experience the city (including historical landmarks and local spots). In addition, one of our family members had altitude sickness and he put a lot of effort into helping her get assistance and even medical care in the airport.

Five stars for our agent and our guide.

Ecuador, Peru Vacation Review: Galapagos, Machu Picchu,...

The plan by Zicasso's trip planner and the help he provided during our trip were invaluable. Unfortunately, my sister and I overestimated our abilities and underestimated our physical stamina. As he suggested, five days in the Galápagos would have been plenty. The Amazon trip was quite arduous for us, but the guide was fantastic. The Machu Picchu guide was fantastic. All our guides enjoy their work. More attention could have been paid to the altitude. My sister was sick most of the trip. We should have paid more attention to that before the trip.

The trip was wonderful. We had an excellent time, with great recommendations and guides. It exceeded expectations. Our Zicasso travel agent and her company were very organized and the app they used was very beneficial. They handled every detail and were available for any troubleshooting. They worked with us to craft an itinerary that was exactly what we wanted and were excellent communicators. Highly recommended!

Peru, Ecuador Tour Review: Wildlife, Hiking, Mountains,...

We (me and my husband) took our seven-year-old to visit Machu Picchu and the Galápagos for two weeks. The trip was initially booked through Zicasso, who then referred us to our travel agent, who fine-tuned our itinerary to make all three of us happy, and it was great. We had nothing to worry about. Once we landed in Lima, the rest was like autopilot. Our drivers were ready, the hotels were amazing, and the food was awesome. They even helped us check in bags at the airports and printed our boarding passes for us since we didn’t speak much Spanish.

My son had a blast in the Galápagos. His eyes got so big, once he got to officially snorkel, after seeing all those beautiful animals underwater. He loves nature and he got to go hiking and see all kinds of animals every day. Altitude sickness was real in Machu Picchu, but a little water and a little rest fixed it.
