Detailed Description

From the history of Genoa to the bountiful beauty of the Italian Riviera, the marbled splendor of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to the beautiful memorials of Florence’s celebrated citizens, your 8-day photography adventure of Liguria and Tuscany will embody the grandeur of Italy as seen through your eyes. Your private guide will lead you through the history and majesty of the landscape and architecture, culture and artwork and find pristine vistas and sophisticated wineries, complex cuisine, and carefully planned light. Whether you are a novice photographer, enthusiastic amateur, or a seasoned veteran, you will learn about Italy and photography in a combined exploration of your artistic eye and sights you observe.

Your tour will begin with your arrival in Genoa, the birthplace of Columbus and a maritime powerhouse through the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Your private transfer will escort you to a luxurious hotel located near the refurbished seaport. Your guide will greet you in the lobby and lead you on a remarkable introductory tour of Genoa, Italy, and photography. Learn to focus on the world differently, not just from a historical perspective, but also from a viewpoint of contrasts and framing. Venture next to the charming seaside town of Rapallo and enjoy your opulent accommodations before you board a boat to the town of Santa Margherita. Discover the pleasures of the Italian Riviera along the promenade and hillsides before you continue to the lavish Portofino and the secluded beach home to San Fruttuoso Abbey.

Enjoy a morning cruise to the secluded village of Camogli, a gem on the Italian Riviera often overlooked by visitors. The serene atmosphere of terraced cobblestone streets and lush hillside forests creates an opportunity to capture a perfect photograph. Relax in the seaside cafes and watch the lifestyle of the locals as they luxuriate in the coastal breeze. Move next to Cinque Terre and the town of Monterosso. Your guide will lead you through the town and along the old streets, near the treasured beach before you discover the pastel homes of Vernazza and Corniglia. Continue the next day with your exploration of the picturesque coastline of Liguria with a ferry ride to the small port of Portovenere. Delight in the fishing boats and the narrow streets en route to Riomaggiore, the southernmost town of Cinque Terre.

Your camera will be close at hand, and you will capture the towns and culture from all angles. Take the trail to Manarola for a different perspective of the landscape and towns, meet with wineries in the vines above Manarola and great chefs inside their celebrated restaurants. Leave the breathtaking landscape of Liguria behind to replace the seaside with the rolling hills of Tuscany. Your guide will take you on a marvelous tour of Pisa to look past the obvious monuments and find the overlooked beauty of the medieval maritime powerhouse. Travel next along the streets of Florence for an immersive view of the Renaissance and search for the embodiment of contemporary life in the historical art of the city. Conclude as your private transfer will meet you at your hotel and escort you to the Florence airport for your flight home.

Italy, Greece Honeymoon Review: Culture, Cuisine, Snorkeling,...

My husband and I went through Zicasso to plan our honeymoon to Italy and Greece. This was the best decision ever! We worked closely with our travel specialist to plan our trip and she was absolutely phenomenal. This was our first international trip outside of the US, so we were a bit nervous at first! However, our specialist ensured every aspect of the trip was organized and that we were taken care of every step of the way.

The biggest relief was transportation. We did not have to give a second thought as to how we were getting places; we had drivers set up at every destination and for nearly every activity. Also, we had 24/7 support if anything were to go wrong, which gave us peace of mind.

If you are hesitant to use Zicasso for your next trip, I want you to know that I was too, but it was the best decision! We were able to personalize and tailor our trip to our needs without the hassle of dealing with the details.

Italy, Malta Trip Review: City Tour, 20 Days

I was very pleased with the entire planning of the trip. The communication with Zicasso's tour company was excellent. The meals that were pre-arranged by them were fantastic and we probably would not have found them on our own.

Italy Vacation Review: Ravenna, Padua, History, Art, Scrovegni...

It was a great pleasure working with Zicasso's tour agency. Our travel designer and her staff were attentive to the kind of trip we wanted and planned a great itinerary. The hotels, restaurants, and drivers were all top-notch. For us, the acid test was the quality of the guides, and they excelled there as well. We would happily have them plan another trip for us.
