Sicilian Splendors for All: Amazing One-Week Family Vacation

After a relaxing morning, you will go on a private tour of the Palermo Cathedral and Sicilian Cart Museum. The church is known for its many architectural styles, which are a result of the various nations that ruled over Sicily. Once your tour concludes, your guide will lead you to the Sicilian Cart Museum. This museum pays tribute to the tradition of the Sicilian cart. Once used for transport, the carts today are more known for their colorful designs and paintings.

After breakfast this morning, you will transfer to Agrigento. As you make your way through the winding roads of the island, the beautiful Sicilian landscape will surround you. When you arrive at your accommodation in Agrigento, you will have some time to settle in before engaging in a tour of the Valley of the Temples. The Valley of the Temples is considered to be one of the most significant archeological sites in Sicily. This ancient site is home to the remains of various temples that date back centuries.

After breakfast, you will transfer to Catania, which is located along Sicily’s eastern coast. Along the way, you will stop in the city of Enna for a private tour. Enna is uniquely situated at over 3,000 feet above sea level. Your guide will lead you on a tour of the city’s highlights, including the Enna Cathedral and Lombardy Castle. The gorgeous Enna Cathedral dates back to the 14th century, and the Lombardy Castle is equally impressive. After you arrive at your hotel, you can begin to explore Catania at your leisure.

After breakfast this morning, you will have some time to relax or indulge in a short stroll around your hotel’s neighborhood before visiting a local cheese farm. When you arrive at the farm, you will be greeted by the friendly owners, who will also be your tour guides for the day. As you are led around the farm, you will learn about the history of farming in Sicily. Once inside, you will witness the cheesemaking process in action before being able to taste the cheese. Once you are back at your hotel, you can enjoy the rest of the day however you see fit.

This morning, you will transfer to Taormina. It will be a short but scenic ride, and when you arrive at your accommodation in the town, you will have a moment to place your things in your suite before hiking Mt. Etna. The climb will be exhilarating, and once you are at the top of the crater, you will have an incredible view of the surrounding landscape. In the nearby shop, you can explore some of the goods that have been made with the volcano’s lava before returning to Taormina for the evening.

This morning, you will have time to stroll around the town one last time. Soon, your driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
