Detailed Description
New Zealand and Bora Bora have the same origins and rise out of the South Pacific like the fingers of an unruly giant. Sculpted from volcanoes, these islands are home to some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes with glaciers only accessible by helicopter, mountain pinnacles enveloped by jungle, bubbling hot pools of metallic colors, and endless swathes of white sand. Nature is quick to humble on these islands, their beauty only matched by their scale and this luxury adventure combines the best of this natural wonder in the South Pacific as you explore New Zealand’s North and South islands before days filled with white sandy beaches on Tahiti and Bora Bora. Over these two weeks, you will be immersed in nature’s most sublime landscapes, stretching from snow-capped peaks to the lush colors of the tropics.
Start on the South Island, home to so many recognizable landscapes from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings. You will spend a day finding some of these locations before jet boating across the alpine melt of the mountains. Milford Sound is New Zealand’s most iconic natural attraction, and you will spend the night on a luxury boat and watch the mist flutter around, through the evening and into the morning. Completing the South Island experience is a helicopter flight that touches down on a glacier, plus some tasting of Pinot Noir wines in Central Otago.
Fly next to Rotorua on the North Island and therapeutic hot pools and streams swirling with strange colors await. Be welcomed by a Maori haka, war dance, and taste a traditional hangi meal cooked on hot stones beneath the ground and then spend a day exploring the forests and the lakes. Next, make a stop at Hobbiton on route to Waiheke, a lush island of vineyards, art galleries, and a very decadent atmosphere. It will be an island very different in atmosphere from your next stop, Tahiti, which will be reached via a direct flight from Auckland.
Like New Zealand, the island of Bora Bora is framed by the drama of nature. Carpeted by forest and moss, the massif of Mount Otemanu creates the thrilling centerpiece. Your private villa stands over the water, gazing across a turquoise lagoon to this volcanic landscape. For these days spent on Bora Bora, the experience will center around lying back and indulging as the white sand, and exotic waters can offer such relaxing pleasures. Invitations to adventure abound, and you can keep exploring, like a jeep trip to the mountain, a visit to a Tahitian village, and plenty of options on the water. Don’t take just our word for it - consider reading some of our travelers’ reviews of Bora Bora.

The itinerary was awesome! We had a few snafus with hotel reservations, but they were quickly resolved. The tours were perfect and all private, with excellent guides. The pace made good use of the time we had and maximized seeing the most locations in our time frame. The hotels were beautiful (especially the one in Queenstown, WOW!) and the rooms were perfect for our needs (kitchens and laundry). It was so great having everything pre-booked and guided, as it allowed us to relax and enjoy the trip and not worry about logistics. It was a trip of a lifetime.
I would highly recommend this Zicasso travel agency! When traveling so far away, it made such a difference to have everything coordinated by a professional. I have had many people ask how we managed to do so much with the time we had. Now, I don't think I can travel any other way.

Zicasso’s trip planner did an excellent job. Communication and the quality of the experiences were everything we'd expected and more, especially in New Zealand. The accommodations were first rate; the highlight was the lodge in Queenstown. The guides and drivers were professional and knowledgeable, especially those in Queenstown and Auckland. We loved the dedicated website for reference, as well as the detailed booklet and maps for both countries.
For future itineraries, I would add another day in Queenstown and a full day in Christchurch. If days were limited, I would recommend one less day in Auckland and/or skipping the drive/train from Franz Josef.
The only complication was the day we spent 10 hours going to and coming from Milford Sound. I recommend doing Milford Sound by plane/helicopter from Queenstown, which would also permit seeing the glaciers/southern alps from the air. The only things we missed were the zoo in Auckland and the Blue Mountain day tour in Sydney. Next trip!

We had a fabulous time celebrating my 75th birthday in New Zealand and Bora Bora. Zicasso's travel specialist was fantastic to work with. She was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns and even checked in with us numerous times while we were on the trip. I'd highly recommend her and the travel company when traveling to New Zealand or French Polynesia.

Zicasso's travel specialist worked with us every step of the way to create an amazing itinerary filled with adventure in New Zealand and luxurious relaxation in Fiji. She helped us adjust the itinerary until it was just right. Unfortunately, there were a couple of excursions that were impacted by the weather and other logistics, which impacted our experience, but it was not her fault and she was willing to try to find other options.

Thanks to the amazing, perfectly planned Australia and New Zealand vacation itinerary provided by Zicasso's travel agency, and specifically the travel agent and her wonderful colleagues, this was the perfect vacation. We were well taken care of and flights were planned within the countries, with someone always greeting us at the next stop to move us through to our next adventure.
We were always busy and saw the most wonderful things... a sunset dinner cruise on Sydney harbor, the march of the penguins at Phillip Island (she arranged for us to have a front-row seat!), snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and touring the rainforest with an Aboriginal guide was very interesting! She arranged for many tours and activities, like a jet boat ride up the Dart River, a helicopter ride onto a glacier, and a TranzAlpine train ride in New Zealand. We also had a first-time-ever encounter with a pod of orca while on a boat tour in New Zealand. The whole trip was an unforgettable experience!
We wished we had taken the travel agent's advice and stayed longer. There was so much to see. We packed a lot into our four short weeks thanks to them. We highly recommend using them to plan your Australia and New Zealand itinerary.

While my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of Tahiti, I regret to say that our experience with Zicasso's travel agent did not meet our expectations. We entrusted her with planning our 10-day vacation for a group of six, including four young adults in their 20s and early 30s, and unfortunately, several issues impacted our trip.
Of the ten days we were in Tahiti, only two excursions were arranged by our agent. Prior to departure, she sent us a finalized itinerary, and based on that schedule, we booked additional activities for the open days. However, on the second day of our trip, she informed us we had missed an excursion in Moorea. I referenced the itinerary she had provided, which listed that excursion for the following day. She claimed that the schedule had changed, and I was looking at an outdated version, despite never receiving an update or notification. She then placed the blame on airport staff for not informing us of the change—something that should have been her responsibility.
Additionally, the selection of one of the hotels for four nights did not align with the preferences we discussed. While the island and hotel are beautiful, the location was extremely isolated and better suited for honeymooners or older couples. The concierge offered little support in finding local activities, and we were disappointed to miss Easter Sunday services, which we had hoped to attend but received no assistance arranging.
Another major concern was the lodging setup. Our agent booked three rooms, each with a king and a single bed. This configuration was excessive for our group, as we could have comfortably managed with two rooms. This was an unnecessary expense, especially given the already significant cost of the trip.
Due to these issues—lack of communication, poor alignment with our group’s interests, and inefficient planning—I would not recommend her services, nor would I book with this travel agency again.
