Detailed Description

Peru is a land of icons and a country where a hundred postcards could be created in a single day. From Lima to Cusco, the Amazon to the Andes, you will find that everywhere you explore will bring a photograph to remember. However, Peru is not purely a visual country. Here, you explore with all the senses. You will experience a myriad of aromas throughout the jungle, howler monkeys prancing about, unique cobblestone roads, and the soft touch of the medicinal Amazonian plants.

This is a country that you feel. Even though some attractions are world famous, they have retained a special sense of being cut off and untouched. The ancient culture is not just something to be read about , rather you experience it at markets and along the sacred trails. You can feel what it must have been like when the Incas flourished, and you can sense how much of the Amazon is yet to be explored.

Handcrafted with Peru’s finest hotels, this ten-day private tour takes you around the country’s key highlights and experiences. Fly to Lima and check out one of the world’s finest culinary scenes along with neighborhoods that mix old and new cultures. Then, fly to the Amazon, where a three-night stay is both relaxing and full of adventure. Canoe on Lake Sandoval as monkeys call, hideout at salt licks to see incredible birdlife, learn about over 200 species of plants, and embrace a feeling that only the Amazon can create. Your lodge is on the water, and there is a customized program of activities that will be dependent on how you feel.

It is a short flight West from the Amazon to the Andes, where you can check out a couple highlights of before settling into a spa villa accommodation that dates back to 19th-century royal grandeur. Day seven is all about the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where markets meet fortress, stone, and salt pans. Then, it is off to Machu Picchu on day eight, which is full of an afternoon in the citadel that is as large as it is famous. Stay at the only hotel on the mountain, which is adjacent to the lost city so that you can return the following morning for another experience with Machu Picchu. Take the train to Cusco on day nine, and the final 24 hours brings colonial churches, Incan temples, colorful markets, and grand plazas. You then fly out from Cusco, taking the feeling of Peru back home. Read more here about the other exceptional experiences our travelers have appreciated in their travel reviews of Peru.

Peru Tour Review: Lima, Machu Picchu, 8 Nights

I wish I could give more than five stars. My husband and I took our two children, ages 16 and 11, on this amazing trip. Zicasso's travel experts made great suggestions to help make the trip one for everybody to remember. They and their vendors were amazingly supportive, beyond what we expected during the trip in-country as well.
