Detailed Description

You will embark on an unforgettable, 7-day excursion as you explore sunny Barcelona and the surrounding region of Catalonia. Here, locals will warmly welcome you and share their rich heritage and history. Down every cobbled street and around each cathedral corner or palace wall, centuries-old histories have been coveted and preserved. You will follow alongside your expert guide as you uncover the beauty and mystery of this great city.

On your first day in Barcelona, you will truly enjoy yourself with a relaxing terrace dinner along the luscious, pedestrian boulevard that is known as Las Ramblas. Here, couples pass hand-in-hand, and families peruse local artwork at nearby kiosks. The following day, your expert guide will lead you on a tour that will be complete with an in-depth look at the Gothic Quarter and the world-renowned Sagrada Familia church. Other whimsical designs of beloved architect Antoni Gaudi unfold when you witness his Casa Mila and Casa Batllo before strolling through the fairytale landscapes of Park Guell, which are complete with impeccable views of the outstretched city.

Later in the week, you will break away from Catalonia's capital to explore the charming city of Girona. Vibrant red, orange, and yellow facades will welcome you in as you cross the Eiffel Bridge. Here, you will explore the city's diverse heritage while touring places like Girona's Cathedral, the ancient synagogue, and the Arab baths. In the evening, you can rest along the sparkling shorelines of Costa Brava and sip on a glass of sweet red wine as you overlook the harbor. Rugged mountains will replace sandy beaches when you trek to the stunning Santa Maria de Montserrat monastery, which is hidden in the secluded region of Montserrat. This will be one of your final outings in Spain, but it will be sure to culminate your adventure in perfect fashion.

Overall, this unique, 7-day journey will have you planning your return trip to Spain before you depart this magnificent country.  Don’t take just our word for it - consider reading some of our travelers’ reviews of Spain.

Portugal, Spain Tour Review: Porto, Cangas de Onis, Sidecar...

The planning experience was wonderful overall. From the initial conversation about what my family was looking for to the final touches to the itinerary, Zicasso's travel expert was engaging, responsive, and helpful.

The accommodations he selected for us exceeded expectations; they were spacious, beautiful, and well-located. The tours/activities suggested were really fun and gave us a sense of the locale in a unique and memorable way that fit our family well. Once we were in-country, communications were easy and helpful. We felt very well cared for.

Payment to our travel company was easy and it was a real pleasure once we were in-country to have all the identified items already paid for. I would definitely book a trip with them again.

Spain Vacation Review: History, Architecture, Hiking, E-Biking,...

Zicasso's travel specialists did a great job for us. They clearly listened to us and curated an experience that was made specifically for us. It checked all of the boxes and more.

Highlights were the local tour guides in each city. It was great to meet and get to know local people, learn so much history, see the architecture (Gaudí in Barcelona and the awesome palaces and cathedrals that we visited), the Montserrat hike, Caminito del Rey (which was absolutely better with a guide), and the Marbella e-bike adventure.

The hotels were wonderful; all unique and all great choices. We came home happy and tired, which is the sign of a good trip for us (since we do not ever sit on beaches or at pools and relax!).

My family and I loved Asturias. We considered it a “once-in-a-lifetime” trip. Zicasso's travel agent planned the perfect outings for us. Our guides were knowledgeable and helpful. Our agent also provided us with very helpful hints and suggestions for restaurants and shops. Both of the hotels he chose were located perfectly and staffed by friendly employees.
