Detailed Description

The beauty of Spain is more than the beaches of Barcelona and the Royal Palace of Madrid. Step beyond the Alhambra in Andalusia and witness the coveted regions of Navarra, Rioja, and the Basque country for a food and wine journey through Spain. Sip celebrated wines in an underground winery and taste freshly grilled fish in a picture perfect seaside village. Your passion for flavors will thank you and every moment will offer something new to treasure. Bilbao is a modern city that holds tight to its historic streets.

The Guggenheim Museum decorates the revamped neighborhoods with an elegant display of artistry in architecture. Haro is a medieval city with an old charm. The River Ebro passes on the city’s fringes. The old quarter is lively and jovial, filled with wine mansions and coveted cellars. Visit Dinastia Vivanco, the largest wine museum in the world and revel in a winery tour around Labastida that offers an exploration of the grounds, the local Rioja varietal, and your taste buds.

Tour through the local vineyards of Rioja near the town of Logrono and discover the quaint and unique wine estates of the countryside. Logrono’s old quarter almost bursts with the small food bars and gastronomic streets. After a guided tour of a local winery, go on a private exploration of medieval towns that overlook the Cantabrian Mountains. Visit underground cellars in Laguardia and taste the exotic flavors that the earthy landscape inserts into the vines.

In Navarra, you will pass regal manors and lush vineyards that offer delightful samplings of Rioja and Bordeaux. Continue to Puente la Reina, a stunning town on the route of the Camino de Santiago. Arrive in San Sebastian. The beachside city is home to restaurants with a combined 16 Michelin Stars. Savor the city’s relaxed pace, wondrous museums, and extraordinary flavors. A private transfer will take you to the airport for your flight home as your Spain tour comes to an end, but the exceptional memories of the wine and cuisine of Spain will go with you.

Portugal, Spain Tour Review: Porto, Cangas de Onis, Sidecar...

The planning experience was wonderful overall. From the initial conversation about what my family was looking for to the final touches to the itinerary, Zicasso's travel expert was engaging, responsive, and helpful.

The accommodations he selected for us exceeded expectations; they were spacious, beautiful, and well-located. The tours/activities suggested were really fun and gave us a sense of the locale in a unique and memorable way that fit our family well. Once we were in-country, communications were easy and helpful. We felt very well cared for.

Payment to our travel company was easy and it was a real pleasure once we were in-country to have all the identified items already paid for. I would definitely book a trip with them again.

Spain Vacation Review: History, Architecture, Hiking, E-Biking,...

Zicasso's travel specialists did a great job for us. They clearly listened to us and curated an experience that was made specifically for us. It checked all of the boxes and more.

Highlights were the local tour guides in each city. It was great to meet and get to know local people, learn so much history, see the architecture (Gaudí in Barcelona and the awesome palaces and cathedrals that we visited), the Montserrat hike, Caminito del Rey (which was absolutely better with a guide), and the Marbella e-bike adventure.

The hotels were wonderful; all unique and all great choices. We came home happy and tired, which is the sign of a good trip for us (since we do not ever sit on beaches or at pools and relax!).

My family and I loved Asturias. We considered it a “once-in-a-lifetime” trip. Zicasso's travel agent planned the perfect outings for us. Our guides were knowledgeable and helpful. Our agent also provided us with very helpful hints and suggestions for restaurants and shops. Both of the hotels he chose were located perfectly and staffed by friendly employees.
