Detailed Description

Along the enchanting cobblestone streets of Andalusia lie captivating clues about the region's rich history. Inside immaculate cathedrals, synagogues, and mosques, you will find insights into the religious and ethnic makeup of each fascinating city. Then, as you climb to the top of looming fortresses, you will uncover each metropolises' military might. Next, you will stroll through the halls of prestigious palaces to learn how revered nobility lived and reigned. All the while, you will delve into the contagious culture of Andalusia.

You will begin your historically-based, cultural tour in Madrid. After landing at the Barajas International Airport, you will be led down Gran Via to tour the official residence of Spanish royalty at the Royal Palace. You will keep up with the hustle and bustle of city life in Plaza del Sol and stroll through the picturesque public park that is known as Parque El Retiro. Then, as a group, you will venture to Cordoba, where you will step inside the famed corridors of La Mezquita. Your guide will lead you through the mosque-cathedral and later to the enchanting Jewish Quarter to learn about the city's diverse heritage.

Afterward, you will continue to Sevilla, where you will stroll along the Plaza de Espana and marvel at the vibrant facades of the Triana neighborhood. You will then circle the Sevilla Cathedral before sampling savory gazpacho. Then, you will enter an authentic bullfighting ring before leaving for the lovely town of Granada, which is nestled into the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountain range. You will be in for a treat because you will attend a traditional dinner and flamenco show in the idyllic neighborhood of Albaicin. Perhaps, your best views will come from your second day in Granada when you summit to La Alhambra, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the last standing stronghold of the Moorish Empire.

Finally, you will venture to the sparkling shorelines of Malaga after a brief respite at Ronda's Puente Nuevo. In Malaga, you will witness the famed artwork of artist Pablo Picasso at the Picasso Museum before indulging in a traditional paella meal. Looking for more recommended Spain travel inspiration? Portugal, Spain Tour Review: Porto, Cangas de Onis, Sidecar...

The planning experience was wonderful overall. From the initial conversation about what my family was looking for to the final touches to the itinerary, Zicasso's travel expert was engaging, responsive, and helpful.

The accommodations he selected for us exceeded expectations; they were spacious, beautiful, and well-located. The tours/activities suggested were really fun and gave us a sense of the locale in a unique and memorable way that fit our family well. Once we were in-country, communications were easy and helpful. We felt very well cared for.

Payment to our travel company was easy and it was a real pleasure once we were in-country to have all the identified items already paid for. I would definitely book a trip with them again.

Spain Vacation Review: History, Architecture, Hiking, E-Biking,...

Zicasso's travel specialists did a great job for us. They clearly listened to us and curated an experience that was made specifically for us. It checked all of the boxes and more.

Highlights were the local tour guides in each city. It was great to meet and get to know local people, learn so much history, see the architecture (Gaudí in Barcelona and the awesome palaces and cathedrals that we visited), the Montserrat hike, Caminito del Rey (which was absolutely better with a guide), and the Marbella e-bike adventure.

The hotels were wonderful; all unique and all great choices. We came home happy and tired, which is the sign of a good trip for us (since we do not ever sit on beaches or at pools and relax!).

Our agent also provided us with very helpful hints and suggestions for restaurants and shops. Both of the hotels he chose were located perfectly and staffed by friendly employees.
