Customizable Itinerary
Day 1
Serengeti – Golden Sea
Depart from Arusha in the early morning and fly over the distinct plains of the Serengeti, where the grass sways in the breeze and looks like a sea of rippling gold. From the plane herds of elephants can be seen parading through the prairie, appearing first as small dots in a gilded field until the plane descends, the elephants grow, and you land amongst the natural beauty of the Serengeti Nature Reserve.
Once on the ground, you will begin your Tanzanian safari trip with a game drive. The Serengeti is one of the world’s best known wildlife reserves due to its high volume of animals and its being home to one of the best known lions to ever have been conjured: Simba, from the “The Lion King.” The warm afternoon smells of dry grass and soft earth. Traverse the grounds with your well-informed guide, who will point out the varieties of wildlife that linger in the bush.
Keep your eyes open for that herd of elephants wandering along the horizon. Their large, gray forms loom large on the horizon and larger still when close to the vehicle. Their tusks droop and point, reflecting the sunlight with a slight sparkle. Stray leaves sometimes dangle from their tusks as if the elephant is saving some foliage for later. They stand tall in the cooling sky as the sun fades over the horizon. The elephants become a shadow in the coming darkness, before fading away in search of a watering hole.

Detailed Description
A journey through Tanzania offers what every adventure should: a treasure worth more than gold. This seven-day journey through Tanzania offers exactly that, a treasure more precious than gold and more important than riches. Best experienced in the dryer months of Tanzania’s winter, this adventure is sure to shower you in the golden memories of a lifetime.
Begin your journey with a flight to the Serengeti where the plains reflect the amber sun. Spend your time exploring these endless plains in search of the vivacious wildlife that calls the area home. From lions to hippos, from cranes to storks, there is never an end to the abundance of life that glistens in your eyes when you spot them and sings in your mind when you remember them. Continue your journey through Olduvai Gorge, where humanity was born, and on to the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater blends the adrenaline of lively animals with the lush surroundings of a cool, temperate climate. The animals thrive and so does the adventure.
Venture to Lake Manyara and the edges of the Great Rift Valley to experience the less visited treasures of Tanzania, places where familiarity with the wildlife, the people, and the culture come together to provide you with memories like no other. The people are kind, the wildlife is vibrant, and the Great Rift Valley is exciting. Every adventure is what you make it, and this adventure is pure gold, wrapped up in one journey, and deposited safely in your mind, ready to be relived every chance you get.

We can't speak highly enough about using Zicasso's travel specialist and her company. They put together a complicated package covering three completely separate areas and were able to connect us with local guides in each place. The guides they worked with were all fabulous, as were the locations we stayed at.
At one point, the airline that was handling our trip out changed the flight due to local conditions. I learned of this first through our specialist, who was immediately on the situation and kept us apprised of the change. The company provided us with an online portal that covered every part of our trip. It was constantly updated and we always knew who the next contact was in the new area.
Throughout the process, we had constant questions and changes. Our travel company was very pleasant and accommodating of our concerns. Their work was in the middle of a larger trip. Even though they were not handling the stops before and after their portion, they were more than happy to help out with those portions and added that information to our itinerary at no cost.
In a word, they were fabulous. If you want more detail on their work and my unqualified recommendation of them, please reach out and I'm happy to provide you with more information.
