She took care of every detail at every step, and the hotels she picked out for us in Athens, Paros, and Santorini were beyond our expectations.

She put together a perfect itinerary for our honeymoon that included planned events and the perfect amount of relaxing downtime so we didn't get too overwhelmed. She even went above and beyond to help me secretly plan a romantic birthday surprise for my new husband (as his birthday was during our honeymoon) by coordinating with the hotel we stayed in to decorate our room with rose petals and candles while we were at dinner. He had no idea and I will never forget the look on his face when he walked in, a memory I will lovingly cherish forever. Pre-Planning

I had not worked with Zicasso or its partner previously, so I had some trepidations. My travel contact soon became my trusted partner. It was full collaboration and communication right from the beginning. She became an advisor, educator, and, when necessary, a disciplinarian. She worked hard to keep me on schedule – thank you!

By the time I was preparing to leave, all details were solidified, with access to every step via an online app which also gave me 24/7 access to the travel team.

The Itinerary and the People

Although there was a predetermined (by me) itinerary, there was also flexibility. I never felt “pigeon-holed”. Ninety-eight percent went as planned, without a hitch. The drivers and guides were all on time and so helpful. Both went out of their way to assure our comfort and safety.

In my case, I walk with a cane to support a degenerative back and a slight ataxia. I frequently needed a little extra, like carrying my bags, arranging for a wheelchair when necessary and just offering a smile and a hand to assist getting in and out of the car.

We have traveled overseas on many occasions and have always undertaken the planning/booking process ourselves, until this trip. Due to my minor accessibility issues, we decided not to burden a standard travel group with our issues, hence the use of Zicasso's travel partner to develop a travel package for ourselves. The trip involved travel to and from Brisbane (Australia) to Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, Cape Town, and Kruger National Park.

Overall, the planning stage was well managed, with multiple changes to the program being accepted and dealt with by our travel company, including some very late changes. We applaud our agent for her diligence in ensuring our needs were always met.

Being our first foray into the African continent, we were put at ease having a locally-based travel advisor on hand to attend to such matters as travel via light plane to remote field airstrips and onward to even more remote wilderness camps. At no stage during the trip did we have reason to question the planning and organization that saw us utilizing the services of flight managers, vehicle transfers, tours, boat tours, and government (cross-country immigration and customs) services.

The two-week trip saw us complete our wishlist, with expectations being met and exceeded, such as being up close with the Big Five.

The trip went without a hitch, apart from expected minor delays at several airports.

Our planner provided us with an imaginative itinerary that we would never have imagined ourselves. She was responsive with her suggestions and answers to our questions. We had planned to stay in Shanghai and perhaps to go out to one of the water towns, then our planner suggested that we think a little bigger and go to Huangshan and stay for three nights. We loved the boutique hotel, probably our favorite place.

Our trip required a lot of moving around, however our three guides and drivers got us to and from each location without a single misstep. We didn't waste a minute trying to figure out our logistics, and I would say that each one went above our expectations. Also, the Shanghai itinerary got us to the top spots without a hitch.

The only thing I would fault is that our guide in Huangshan did not speak English as clearly as we would have liked, but he certainly did his best. All three guides were soft-spoken, personable, and attentive to detail.

Also, while knowledgeable about China, none of the guides were academic or history experts. But we have no complaints!

Overall, we had a great time. First, I want to thank our Zicasso travel consultant, who helped us plan an itinerary that met all of our needs. She was very prompt and incorporated our feedback.
