Sydney – The Family Majesty of Sydney
The walkways of Sydney shimmer against the colorful turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean. The iconic Sydney Opera House rises above the brick esplanade with a roof imitating illustrious sails. A replica of Captain Cook’s ship adorns Darling Harbour, representing the country’s absorbing seafaring history amidst galleries highlighting indigenous maritime culture. Your flight lands at Sydney Airport where your private transfer meets the family upon your arrival. The city bustles with culture, from art galleries in the neighborhood of Newtown to the late 19th-century arcades of the Queen Victoria Building in the Central Business District. Sydney Tower adorns the skyline, reaching a height of more than 1,000 feet above the city streets.
You settle into a luxurious hotel overlooking the passing boats of the harbor, accentuated by the steel frame of the Sydney Harbour Bridge’s lavish arch. Your guide meets you at the hotel, eager to introduce the family to the remarkable history of Australia’s oldest city, beginning in the Rocks district. The aroma of freshly baked macaroons emanates from the local patisserie edging the walkway of the outdoor shopping center. Sandstone brick warehouses erected in the 19th century continue to decorate the streets. The kids marvel at the tales the guide tells of the first people who looked out over the rocky bay in the 1770s to see the soaring sails of the HMB Endeavour, Captain Cook’s famous research vessel.

The rhythmic vibrations of the didgeridoo hum beneath unfettered starlight. Loggerhead turtles graze on sea grass sweeping across the ocean floor. Koalas lounge in eucalyptus trees and crocodiles linger in rivers, camouflaged amongst the rainforest underbrush. The family will find thrills and a relaxing ambiance, historic neighborhoods and newfound surf-skills while exploring the culture, landscape, and seaside splendors of the Land Down Under.
The journey begins with the family’s arrival at Sydney Airport. Your private transfer escorts you to a luxurious hotel offering remarkable views of Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay. After settling into the hotel, the family embarks on an introductory tour of Sydney, following your guide through the historical neighborhood of the Rocks and the beauty of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Thanks to the amazing, perfectly planned Australia and New Zealand vacation itinerary provided by Zicasso's travel agency, and specifically the travel agent and her wonderful colleagues, this was the perfect vacation. We were well taken care of and flights were planned within the countries, with someone always greeting us at the next stop to move us through to our next adventure.
We were always busy and saw the most wonderful things... a sunset dinner cruise on Sydney harbor, the march of the penguins at Phillip Island (she arranged for us to have a front-row seat!), snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and touring the rainforest with an Aboriginal guide was very interesting! She arranged for many tours and activities, like a jet boat ride up the Dart River, a helicopter ride onto a glacier, and a TranzAlpine train ride in New Zealand. We also had a first-time-ever encounter with a pod of orca while on a boat tour in New Zealand. The whole trip was an unforgettable experience!
We wished we had taken the travel agent's advice and stayed longer. There was so much to see. We packed a lot into our four short weeks thanks to them. We highly recommend using them to plan your Australia and New Zealand itinerary.

The travel specialist at Zicasso's tour company gave us a selection of different types of tours for Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart. Each tour had different levels of activities for us to select from, allowing us to create an itinerary based on our interests.
We had a couple of minor hiccups that were handled with a phone call. We would highly recommend this travel company.

We could not have been more pleased with all of the arrangements. The attention to detail was perfect.
The original Zicasso travel specialist was wonderful and the one who took over from her was amazing. We selected her because of her knowledge of the best routing for air travel and suggestions as to cities that were safer than others.
While in Uluru, we discovered that one of our tours wasn't going to happen, so I called the travel specialist and, within 30 minutes, she had us booked on another tour, very similar to the one that got cancelled.
We especially appreciated the ground transportation. Each driver and their vehicle were great.
All of the tours we experienced were also well planned out. We did cancel one at the last minute in Sydney due to the rainy weather. The travel consultant informed us that we might not get a refund because it was such short notice.
The hotel selections were excellent. We had to depart each one prior to the opening of the breakfast buffet (which was included). In each case, the hotel arranged a "to-go" breakfast box and had it delivered to our room before we left. Excellent service.
