Detailed Description

Enter the heart of Europe on this 14-day Croatia, Slovenia and Austria tour. This vacation takes you through countries around the Adriatic Sea and Danube River. Your stunning Central Europe vacation begins with your arrival in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The medieval seaside city continues to captivate visitors with its colorful roofs and powerful city walls.

Your first full day in the city, your guide meets you at the hotel and leads you through the stunning city. Unlike anywhere else in the world, the city is decorated with Franciscan monasteries and Crusader history.

The following day, you travel south to the Republic of Montenegro to visit Kotor, nestled on Europe’s southernmost fjord, for an exceptional exploration of the medieval streets. Travel inland to the town of Mostar in Bosnia-Herzegovina, located on the banks of the Neretva River where you can see the famous Old Bridge connecting the two sides of the city before continuing to Sarajevo. You have a full day in Sarajevo to witness the sensational history of Old Town and the corner that set off the First World War.

Venture to Split, Croatia, a bit city with an enchanting ambiance, situated on the Dalmatian Coast. You will have a tour of the labyrinthine Diocletian Palace. Travel through the historic seaside city of Zadar and settle near the breathtaking landscape of Plitvice Lakes National Park. A half-day tour of the park shows you the pristine forests and opulent waters.

Travel to Zagreb for a full day in the capital city, exploring both the Upper and Lower neighborhoods of the city. Once in Ljubljana, Slovenia, you can wander through the medieval castle and impressive City Hall, along with the wondrous St. Nicholas’ Cathedral.

A full day excursion out of the city takes you deep into the Postojna Caves and meandering around the marvelous Predjama Castle. You journey from Ljubljana to Vienna, Austria, where your guide leads you on a half-day tour of the city’s remarkable highlights, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Palace. You have a full day in Vienna at your leisure to enjoy the city and its surroundings, including a possible day trip to the nearby Slovakian capital city of Bratislava. Croatia Travel Review: Dubrovnik Tour, Boat Trip, 1 Week...

Our travel guide was excellent. Our hotels were perfect and, from the beginning, he accommodated all of my requests, including my need for gluten-free foods. And during the trip, when my daughter got sick, he arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel.

Croatia Vacation Review: Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Trogir,...

Croatia is a beautiful country to visit. The people we met and the guides we had were all fantastic, professional, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Every place we visited, even the more crowded tourist areas, felt very safe.

Our Zicasso travel agent worked really closely with us right from the beginning to make sure the trip gave our family the balance of exploration, relaxation, learning, and adventure that we look for on our vacations. Every aspect of our trip – every tour, every driver, every dinner, everything – flowed exactly as we had planned it.

Slovenia Vacation Review: Lake Bled, Postojna Cave, Lake...

This was a wonderful trip that surpassed our expectations. My granddaughter chose this as her college graduation trip from me. I am Slovenian and we were able to see where my mother lived as a young child before immigrating to the USA, and where my grandmother lived before marriage. It is a beautiful country.

Our guides were excellent, as were our drivers. They went above and beyond to impart history and cultural information, and were so enthused to show us as much as possible. We couldn't be more pleased with this memorable trip and all the aid we received from Zicasso's travel agent, who was always pleasant and ready to help or answer any questions. I highly recommend the whole team.

Croatia, Greece Trip Review: Athens, Paros, Split, Boat...

Zicasso's travel consultant was so helpful in designing a near-perfect trip for our group of eight travelers. We visited Croatia and Greece. In the planning stages, she was patient yet persistent in moving us toward finalizing the trip. The hotel recommendations and sightseeing choices were, for the most part, outstanding. The ground transfer arrangements were perfect. Most of all, her recommendation for the right Greek island for our group's needs was spot on.
