Yogyakarta – The Journey’s Beginnings
Yogyakarta possesses the heart of the island of Java, central to artistic heritage and Javanese language. Customs continue unadulterated, protected by the sultan, whose royal palace retains a deep connection to traditional life. Your flight lands at Adisutjipto International Airport. Your private transfer meets you at baggage claim and escorts you into the wealth of urban life in the center of the city. Malls and cafes mix with archeological attractions. You take the time to settle into your luxurious hotel erected during the colonial era. The interior décor fuses traditional Javanese style with classical European comforts, along with an elegant swimming pool that feels like a private spa and resort.
Your guide meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you to a batik workshop to learn the traditional art. The workshop fills with the aroma of wood shavings and paint. The colors from drying textiles bring rainbow hues to the forefront of the workspace. Your instructor explains the art of producing colored designs by applying wax to the textiles before dying them, leaving parts of the cloth untouched. After a quick demonstration, your instructor hands you some fabric. The cloth is soft in your hands, and the wax is firm but pliable. You find a basic traditional pattern of swirling circles bordered by straight lines, allowing you to create a stunning combination of vibrant colors bursting from the different shapes.

I travelled with my son Marshall and had a great time. There was a lot of time sitting in airports, but that was the fastest way to get around Indonesia to do all of the things that we wanted to do. We had to go to so many islands! The guides at each stop were fantastic. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual. They also suggested good alternatives to the places we visited that gave us the same experience, with the added plus of not being where there were a lot of tourists.

Overall, Zicasso’s travel agent was excellent. The agent was very receptive to our requests, planned our trip very well based on our input, and every arrangement was seamless, without any hiccups.
Singapore is quite humid and can get hot, more than Texas. With walking everywhere, it can be uncomfortable, so perhaps plan to visit in the cooler months, based on local agents’ feedback.
Vietnam was a surprise in all dimensions. It had very good infrastructure. The travel agents took fantastic care of us and the trips to Ninh Bình, which included a bamboo boat tour, and Hạ Long Bay, with a private boat tour, were noteworthy and must-dos.
Bali was a magical and mystical land, with extremely polite and hospitable people and an extraordinary guide who was calm and facilitated our tour so well. The early-morning Mount Batur hike, though moderately strenuous, was worth it, as the sunrise was spectacular, and the trip to the Jagasari area was peaceful and so insightful. I highly recommend staying longer than the four days we stayed and perhaps changing the location to the coast and north side, as traveling within the island from one spot to another takes a long time. The highlight was the kechak dance performance. It gave us goosebumps.
The arrangements were wonderful, with great accommodations and transportation.
Thanks to our travel agent.

We had a spectacular time making memories with our family in Indonesia. The Zicasso tour agency's team was considerate, caring, accommodating, and well-organized. Their attention to detail, consideration, and anticipation of issues were unparalleled. We were out of the country and they still made sure we got the best service from the craftsman we ordered from. Our family will have lasting memories of this special time. We are looking forward to booking another trip with them.

Team Zicasso,
Our trip to Bali was simply outstanding… we could not have asked for a more amazing vacation! Our highest compliments to our travel agent and the team he put together (our tour guide and driver) to make our vacation (a belated 50th birthday celebration) unforgettable. The travel company put together a top-notch itinerary with the most memorable excursions. From the sunset hike of Mount Batur to tours of rice fields and several temples, and three relaxing days in the Gili Islands, we could not have asked for more!
Our agent was a master communicator and planner who was always two steps ahead. Throughout the entire planning process, he was punctual, efficient, honest, and a problem-solver to boot. Just one example: I miscalculated our departure day by one day and did not realize it until close to the end of our trip. Instead of me trying to frantically rearrange flights etc., our agent, within 30 minutes of hearing my problem, had three viable options for me ready to go, without any interruptions to our schedule. Another very professional touch that showed his willingness to go above and beyond was his personally greeting us at each new hotel we stayed at to ensure the accommodations met our expectations.
I will definitely team up again with Team Zicasso and this company for future travel plans.
Sincerely,
Jeff H.

How can I even begin to explain this trip? It was better than anything we could have ever imagined or put together ourselves.
The level of service, attention to detail, and overall knowledge of our wants and needs was unlike any other trip we have ever had. Zicasso’s travel agent planned and executed the perfect trip from beginning to end, and when flights were delayed and missed, he had connections and options ready. When we asked if we could add or select a different option to something, he would pivot and make it happen.
We loved all the activities. Like everything in life, you have to roll with the weather and traffic and unexpected things like every other traveler, but our agent made sure we had a cooler of drinks and the best guides ever, no matter what!
He selected the most perfect guide for us! Our guide was kind and funny and truly knew Balinese culture, and took such pride in his work and knowledge. We felt so honored to have him with us. He was a fantastic photographer, conversationalist, and someone who, by the end, we truly considered a friend.
Every single resort and property our agent picked was incredible. We would wake up and want to pinch ourselves, and multiple times would shake our heads laughing, asking if this was real life. From the jungle and the islands to the beach and our magnificent private residence with a pool and staff, everything was perfectly executed by our agent and his team. This was the trip of a lifetime with the people we love the most and everything was phenomenal. We can’t thank you enough.
