Detailed Description

There is much more to Paris’s art scene than the Louvre. While it may be very special, there is more to Rome than Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling. These are cities that have always been at the forefront of the art world. This handcrafted 13-day tour will take you through the artistic eras. Visit small churches where legendary works hang above the altar. Explore mostly unknown galleries, where the collections are an authentic part of Europe’s old art scene. Visit the landscapes that inspired artists and the neighborhoods they lived in. Discover the grand architecture that went on to influence the world. Specialist art guides lead the way and the 12 days are liberally packed with world greats.

The greatest highlight of the tour is to understand and appreciate changes through the eras. In Paris, you go from the medieval to the Impressionists, with all the relevant stops along the way. A Roman journey takes you from the time of the Caesars, through Mannerism art and the baroque design of Borromini, then onwards to the Renaissance painters and more. Most days are dedicated to a particular era or set of artists, so you can really delve into a specific theme or style, and understand the influences that have made it so special. It’s the quality of the guidance that makes all the difference. Guides know which way to turn in each gallery, which church houses a monumental work, and all those stories that help to complete the picture.

In the French capital, you explore close to a dozen galleries and museums, as well as walk local neighborhoods and have a day in Giverny, a place at the heart of Impressionism. Exploring the Italian capital has a chronological structure, starting with the ancient empire. Spend a day with Michelangelo and Raphael, a day with Bernini and Caravaggio, then a day exploring the city made by Borromini. Eventually, you’ll come full circle, sitting on a piazza with an espresso in hand, 12 days of authentic art to reflect upon.

France Tour Review: Paris, Notre-Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, 13-Night Trip

Our trip to Paris and the South of France was amazing! We were extremely pleased with our itinerary, visiting the various museums and attractions throughout the trip.

It was unfortunate that France was experiencing a heatwave, but of course, one never knows what Mother Nature has in store for us. We walked the cobblestone streets, keeping well hydrated and managing as best we could. It was a challenge when the temps reached 100 degrees F for several days, but we survived!

The hotel accommodations were lovely and the staff were very accommodating. Zicasso is an exceptional, professional travel company and we were extremely satisfied with everything.

Switzerland, Italy Travel Review: Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen Valley, Zermatt, Lucerne, Lake Como, Milan, Private Tours, Art, Scenery, 10 Days

Wow! I cannot recommend this company enough for your international trips. We were blown away by the quick response times when planning, the detailed itineraries, and their ability to make our dream trip become a reality. We started planning late, and they were still able to create and book our dream trip in less than two months!

We knew we wanted to go to Switzerland and northern Italy, but honestly weren't sure what areas to visit or what activities to do. Our travel agent, through Zicasso, created a dream 10-day itinerary for us, starting in Zurich, then traveling to Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen Valley, Zermatt, Lucerne, Lake Como, and ending in Milan.

They gave us options of activities to do in those cities, with detailed descriptions and recommendations. We chose a lot of mountain expeditions, which we were well pleased with. They provided other suggestions for things to do in the areas we visited and even provided restaurant recommendations. We were so impressed by how quickly they adjusted the itinerary if we requested a change, and they were so accommodating.

They were able to book us a private guided tour of The Last Supper painting in Milan, which was a highlight of the trip! We loved every activity planned and had our tickets sent to us ahead of time to print out or download, which made everything so easy. The detailed itinerary had maps, photos of buildings, walking routes, etc, and was so easy to navigate. We had the smoothest trip because of that detailed itinerary. The trip planner reached out to us several times while we were abroad just to check in and make sure everything was going smoothly.

The hotels were also amazing! Every single one had an amazing breakfast and a beautiful view. We were upgraded twice! They only use four- or five-star hotels, and I think that is a huge bonus. We were so happy with our hotels and hotel rooms. We were also incredibly happy with the price of the trip and the ease of booking and payment.

Overall, I have been telling everyone to use this company for their trips and we will definitely be using Zicasso again! Thank you, Zicasso, for the trip of a lifetime!

France Vacation Review: Louvre, D'Orsay, Moulin Rouge, Montmartre, Bayeux, Gardens, Performance Areas, Seine River, 12 Nights

The trip was wonderful and well-scheduled. I got to do almost everything I hoped for. The guides were excellent, especially the guide at the d'Orsay. I learned more than I did in my semester of art history. The hotels in Bayeux and the tours were exceptional, and right outside the historic districts, so easy walking access for tours, museums, cathedrals (if you go, do check out both these towns' cathedrals!), and bistros.

France Travel Review: Normandy, History, Local Cuisine, Wine, 21-Day Trip

Zicasso's travel company was very attentive. They listened to our requests and then developed an itinerary that worked well. We had three revisions to the schedule and all the drivers, tour guides, excursions, trains, air travel, and hotels were exactly as we requested.

France, Belgium Tour Review: Paris, Bayeux, Bruges, Normandy, Brussels, Mont Saint-Michel, Louvre Museum, Eiffel Tower, Food Tour, Private Tour, Art, 13-Night Trip

We had a perfect trip with Zicasso's travel specialist. He made great recommendations for restaurants and hotels, where the rooms were great and the people were friendly. We had excellent drivers for transfers in France and Belgium. One delivered us to the Paris-Roubaix bike race in a lot of traffic and managed to find a closer pick-up location. We met with the owner of the travel company at the beginning of our trip and again on the last day in Paris. We're extremely satisfied.
