Lausanne – Arrive in Geneva and Transfer to Lausanne for a Half-Day Tour
Your flight will descend into the Geneva airport, and your private transfer will meet you at baggage claim to escort you around the edges of Lake Geneva to the city of Lausanne. The streets and buildings rise along the hills as the waters of the lake glisten in the sunlight. Snow-capped peaks tower above the lakeshore opposite side the city as Lausanne combines a dynamic commercial industry with the charms of a lakeside resort. The grand Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame dominates the historic center. The edifice was erected between the 12th and 13th-centuries over the remnants of previous churches. The cathedral retains its historic elegance and captivates visitors with its striking entrance at the south end. The originally painted statues depict Jesus and the Virgin Mary, along with various biblical scenes. The rose window contains 105 panels of colorful stained glass. Wow! I cannot recommend this company enough for your international trips. We were blown away by the quick response times when planning, the detailed itineraries, and their ability to make our dream trip become a reality. We started planning late, and they were still able to create and book our dream trip in less than two months!
We knew we wanted to go to Switzerland and northern Italy, but honestly weren't sure what areas to visit or what activities to do. Our travel agent, through Zicasso, created a dream 10-day itinerary for us, starting in Zurich, then traveling to Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen Valley, Zermatt, Lucerne, Lake Como, and ending in Milan.
They gave us options of activities to do in those cities, with detailed descriptions and recommendations. We chose a lot of mountain expeditions, which we were well pleased with. They provided other suggestions for things to do in the areas we visited and even provided restaurant recommendations. We were so impressed by how quickly they adjusted the itinerary if we requested a change, and they were so accommodating.
They were able to book us a private guided tour of The Last Supper painting in Milan, which was a highlight of the trip! We loved every activity planned and had our tickets sent to us ahead of time to print out or download, which made everything so easy. The detailed itinerary had maps, photos of buildings, walking routes, etc, and was so easy to navigate. We had the smoothest trip because of that detailed itinerary. The trip planner reached out to us several times while we were abroad just to check in and make sure everything was going smoothly.
The hotels were also amazing! Every single one had an amazing breakfast and a beautiful view. We were upgraded twice! They only use four- or five-star hotels, and I think that is a huge bonus. We were so happy with our hotels and hotel rooms. We were also incredibly happy with the price of the trip and the ease of booking and payment.
Overall, I have been telling everyone to use this company for their trips and we will definitely be using Zicasso again! Thank you, Zicasso, for the trip of a lifetime!

From start to finish, Zicasso's travel agents handled our trip beautifully.
The highlights were the private boat trip on Lake Como, as our captain and guide was excellent. The private drive through Tuscany, seeing small villages. The lunch and wine tour at Sant'Agnese was wonderful; the chicken recipe superb. The vinegars and oils of 10 to 30 years in the making, along with the wine, were excellent.
Both agents were always there for us along our trip, which made it so nice to know how responsive they always were. Our family trip to Italy was all we hoped for and more. We thank the agency so much for helping us make family memories in beautiful Italy.

The drivers were timely, professional, and very prompt. The guides were very knowledgeable and generally designed the tours to match our requests. The hotels were exceptional and our only comment is that there was an odd odor in our room in one of the hotels.
Our only true complaint would be about the wine tasting on May 22. The location was not aware of our reservation. The couple running the vineyard seemed confused by our arrival. After a bit, they offered to accommodate us, but we felt like we were imposing on them. Then, at our lunch at a restaurant on Capri, they did not have a record of a reservation and placed us at a table without a view, near the entrance. We made the best of the meal, but for the price we paid, we would have expected confirmed reservations and a table with a view.
