Portugal, Spain Vacation Review: Barcelona, Porto, Lisbon, Architecture, Culture, Museums, 13 Nights

We enjoyed the trip. The guides were good, although our guide in Lisbon provided a little bit too much history. But he was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his tours. The communication with the Zicasso company through WhatsApp was very good and they were very accommodating to upgrading our transport vehicle because our luggage was large. The food tours were good. We enjoyed all the sites that we saw. Barcelona, especially, was great.

We stayed at four hotels. Only the hotel in Porto was a disappointment. The other hotels were good and we were very comfortable. The breakfast that was served at the various accommodations varied in quality, but the breakfast buffet in Lisbon was extremely good. The hotel in Porto was definitely not a four-star facility. The local airline definitely does not have its act together. When we left Barcelona to come home, the line for the airline was about five or six times the length of every other line. I would have definitely been willing to pay a higher amount for a business class seat in order to use the very short line in the Porto airport.

Spain, Portugal Trip Review: Lisbon, Porto, Sagrada Familia, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Gaudi, Duoro Valley, Fado, Food Tours, Winery, Boat Ride, Private Tours, 13 Nights

Let me begin by saying this is the first time I have used an internet travel agent. I am in my 70s and until now, did my own research and trip planning, but as I prepared for my bucket-list trip to Portugal and Spain, I felt the need for professional help.

I used Zicasso to find a travel agent. Choosing these travel agencies was the best travel decision I have ever made. The travel consultant assessed our desires and designed a trip that covered all of our wishes and more. Her suggestions for particular experiences (i.e., food tours, winery visit, boat tour, etc.) added dimensions to the trip that we had not even thought of. And with the help of her team and contacts, she executed that perfect plan.

Every travel connection, hotel, and tour worked seamlessly. No transport or guide was ever late. Every guide was a delight, not only showing us their particular area, but giving us a window to life in that region.

The app she provided was amazing, complete with a detailed schedule, contacts and emergency numbers (24/7), travel tips, copies of all tickets, and information on all the places we were visiting. It was also very easy to share our itinerary with folks back home. Communication with her was terrific before, during, and after the trip to make sure our needs were met.

Not only did this trip exceed my expectations for a dream trip, but the travel consultants and their team also gave me the gift of not worrying. Priceless!
