Arusha – Bushbabies Welcome You to Tanzania
Intriguing calls fill the evening on the outskirts of Arusha, where your lodge is engulfed by a wild forest. The shouts are from bushbabies, endearing tree climbers that create a soundtrack that keeps you guessing about their exact whereabouts. Witness Tanzania's charm as a postcard-worthy view of the country's beauty comes into perspective, with both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro visible from the lodge in the afternoon. Located between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha, Rivertrees Country Inn provides a comfortable base after the intercontinental flight. You'll be greeted at the airport, and it's just a 20-minute drive to your accommodation. Communication with our Zicasso travel team was fantastic. They were very responsive to all questions and calmed any concerns we had.
We were met at the airport by our travel agent, who was our guide for the week. He was amazing! He ensured we had the best experience possible – we traveled and explored on our schedule, making sure we saw all the animals and sights we wanted to see.
The Serengeti was everything I imagined it would be. The plains were alive with all kinds of animals, and watching the cheetahs, lions, and leopards hunting was magical. We didn’t see them catch anything, but it was still fantastic to see them in action.
We were there during a drought, so the Great Migration hadn't started yet, but it started raining and we saw thousands of animals gathering to start their long trek. It was a beautiful sight.
Our agent did his best to ensure we saw the Big Five – elephant, leopard, buffalo, lion, and rhino, and we managed to see four of them on our first day out in the Serengeti. We had to wait until the last day in the Ngorongoro Crater to see a rhino, but it was worth the wait.
It was the best vacation I have ever had and our travel agent was a big reason why.
Thank you to our travel team!

The trip was very well planned. We received very good suggestions in the planning phase, with a very quick response time to our questions. The camps were all great.
Our guide was the best! We will definitely use Zicasso's trip planner in the future.

Our African safari, organized by Zicasso’s tour company and its agent, was a trip of a lifetime. Their partnering with the local travel company was absolutely brilliant. Our guide was of the highest quality that could have been expected.
The accommodations at the Ngorongoro Crater were amazing. The other accommodations were a bit more rustic, but they seemed perfectly located for our safaris.
We would not recommend the "walk" to the elephant caves without more disclosure about the difficulty of the trek and the footwear required. We were not thrilled with the visit to the Maasai village. We felt taken advantage of. We would have preferred a visit to a village where our participation was more authentic and where we did not get a high-pressure sales pitch.
Booking the hot-air balloon ride with the chosen company was an excellent choice. We have come back with so many memories of our time in Tanzania (including our stay in Zanzibar). We would highly recommend our travel company and agent to anyone considering an African safari.
