Western Tanzania is where inaccessible parks provide a complete sense of wilderness on this 12-day safari adventure. A safari experience that is far from the tourist norm, you will track chimpanzees and ride horses on wildebeest-dappled plains and then settle in opulent lodges that overlook Africa's biggest buffalo herds. Combined with the iconic Serengeti, this safari provides a luxurious journey through the rarest of wildlife highlights to reveal Tanzania's untouched natural bounty.

Day 1
Serengeti – Admiring the Endless Grass Plains
Your light aircraft will swoop into the Serengeti as wildebeest roam beneath the wingtips as you descend onto a remote airstrip. The panoramas are mystical as the grassland extends beyond the horizon in every direction. In one sense, every angle is the same, yet nothing is ever the same in the Serengeti as the plains change every moment of the day. Gaze out as the elephant and giraffe grace the horizon; another angle, and there are wildebeest on the move that canter along with a spray of dust. Twist around, and a sporadic clump of rocks appear to be a perfect lion base.
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to a light aircraft for the flight into the Serengeti. Touch down and a spectacular game drive transfer will take you across the plains to reveal the iconic appeal of the landscape. It often takes the better part of a day to get your head around the scale of it all as the panoramas always flicker with subtle changes. Today is a flexible safari day, with a chance to relax at your luxury camp and explore at your leisure. While game drives take you closer, just being at the camp to gaze across the plains can be a wonderful safari introduction. Like every day on the itinerary, all meals and selected drinks are included.

The trip to Kenya and Tanzania was absolutely amazing! The itinerary chosen for us was perfect and checked off all the things I wanted to accomplish on our first safari. We can't speak highly enough about using Zicasso's travel specialist and her company. They put together a complicated package covering three completely separate areas and were able to connect us with local guides in each place. The guides they worked with were all fabulous, as were the locations we stayed at.
At one point, the airline that was handling our trip out changed the flight due to local conditions. I learned of this first through our specialist, who was immediately on the situation and kept us apprised of the change. The company provided us with an online portal that covered every part of our trip. It was constantly updated and we always knew who the next contact was in the new area.
Throughout the process, we had constant questions and changes. Our travel company was very pleasant and accommodating of our concerns. Their work was in the middle of a larger trip. Even though they were not handling the stops before and after their portion, they were more than happy to help out with those portions and added that information to our itinerary at no cost.
In a word, they were fabulous. If you want more detail on their work and my unqualified recommendation of them, please reach out and I'm happy to provide you with more information.

Zicasso's travel agent is a superstar. We really didn’t know where to go and what to do in Africa, so his excellent advice was critical. We did exactly what he recommended and, as a result, our trip was just perfect. We are eternally grateful.
