New Zealand Tour Review: Zealandia, Maori Culture, Hiking, Biking, Kayaking, 4-Week Trip

Zicasso’s tour partner put together a terrific four-week itinerary for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. She took input about likes, dislikes, and how much physical activity we were up for, and balanced seeing a lot and doing a lot.

The accommodations were appropriate and the excursions were great. All the reservations worked without incident. Communication was excellent; we had questions along the way and they were answered promptly and thoroughly. She made good judgments of what activities were appropriate, to the point that she signed us up for things we may not have considered.

New Zealand, Australia Travel Review: Queenstown, Mount Cook, Hobbiton, 'Lord of the Rings' Experiences, Glacier Tour, 2-Week Trip

We had a fantastic time on our trip to Australia and New Zealand. From the first email communication with Zicasso's travel agent, the process was quick and organized, and we knew we were in good hands. Every single airport pick-up, flight, and excursion ran so smoothly and provided us with a wonderful, well-rounded experience, with comfortable stays and friendly staff. I only gave our agent a few "interests,” and all of the experiences were so much fun and exceeded our expectations!

Everything about our trip was wonderful. Our travel coordinator listened attentively to the kind of adventure and family vacation we wanted, and delivered every step of the way. The app was convenient to use, kept us on track and on time, and the team was responsive to our last-minute questions through the chat function. I would highly recommend a Zicasso trip with our travel company.

New Zealand Vacation Review: Mount Cook Village, Southern Alps, Queenstown, Wanaka, 5 Nights

We had an escorted tour to New Zealand with a big tour company, but wanted to add on a few days at the end without the tour company. So I contacted Zicasso, who we have used for African safaris. They set us up with our trip planners. From half a world away, I could have booked the three hotels and rental car myself, but I wanted the expertise and back-up of somebody right there in New Zealand in case of problems. And I am glad we did. Our agent was always available by phone or email to answer questions. We picked up the rental car at Queenstown airport, then had two nights at Mount Cook Village, with spectacular vistas of the Southern Alps, then two nights at Wānaka, another of the scenic spots of the South Island. We met our agent at the tour office on our way out of town. Then, the last night was in Queenstown.

The trouble started the next afternoon while waiting for our flight home from Queenstown airport. All flights were canceled that afternoon due to heavy wind shear. They booked us for the next day. Hundreds of people were scrambling to get hotel rooms, like we were. We just could not find anything on our own and were thinking we would have to sleep in the bushes, since the airport closed at night. But then I called our agent and, within a few minutes, she had us booked in one of the last available rooms in Queenstown. This is what I meant by “back-up in case of problems.” I am very glad we went with Zicasso’s tour company and will use them if we go back to New Zealand.
