The trip was great. We got to see everything we wanted to see, including the big five and the migration of large herds of wildebeests and zebras.
The travel company was extremely helpful. The pre-trip prep was very thorough, but the true test came when I lost my cell phone in Mara towards the end and then our return flight was unexpectedly canceled. So I was stranded in Nairobi with my 12-year-old, having almost no means of communication with the rest of the world, and the rebooked flight was not until five days later.
The travel agency worked with local providers and put together a three-day side trip for us to go to Lake Nakuru to see rhinos, rebooked our local transportation, and made sure a local agent would be at the airport to help us when we departed — and they made all the arrangements within a day. They helped make a really stressful situation a lot easier to deal with.

This was an excellent company to work with. We would recommend it to all. However, I want to preface this review by stating that this trip was planned back in January 2020, prior to the challenges posed by the global health situation, and that this trip was postponed three consecutive times, extending over three years. Our original travel planner left the company and a new one was assigned to carry this trip to completion. She did a great job.
The goal of our trip was based on cultural aspects and engaging with the people of the countries we visited. Despite the setbacks, this was a good trip. Of course, there were several instances beyond everyone’s control that caused it to be less than stellar. Weather conditions and pollution were significant issues. We didn't see the sun for 30+ days. Additionally, changes due to the global health situation impacted the trip significantly.
However, the explanation of events and the proposed itinerary were far more glorious. It wasn't bad, but it was different. However, all in all, it was a great trip nonetheless. Yes, we would recommend it to all.

Our trip to Tanzania went off without a hitch. We enjoyed every minute of the safari — the game drives, the luxury lodges and tented camps, and the great meals. Relaxing at the end in Zanzibar was a nice end to our trip.

Andre did a great job of organizing our trip. He listened to our needs and adjusted the itinerary to accommodate our desire to be more inland/forest-oriented than beach-oriented. All the guides were excellent, as were the hotel accommodations. The guides were always on time and clear about expectations.
We didn't know what to expect in Madagascar. We were surprised by the abject poverty and the general backwardness of the culture, which has been exacerbated by corrupt leadership and the legacy of foreign colonization (in this case, France) that siphoned out the resources and left the people mired in their impoverished state. Our trip started in Uganda, which is considered a third-world country, but compared to Madagascar, it seems like a fully developed place.
We probably enjoyed the camp near Ifotaka the most due to the accommodations, the daily walks in lemur country, the food (the chef was amazing), and the staff, who were very cordial and helpful. We enjoyed our stay in Andasibe, but did not see nearly as much wildlife as we had hoped. The hotel in Tana was a unique and wonderful experience, and the other hotel in Tana was also very nice.
One point that should be made to anyone traveling to Madagascar is that the trip can be grueling if you're trying to see as much of the country as possible in a relatively short period of time and don't want to just hang out at the beach. The flights within the country are on prop planes and some of the road journeys, like the three-hour drive from Fort Dauphin to the river country or the five-hour drive from Tana to Andasibe can be very long and on treacherous, hole-filled roads that would be considered impassable in the US. These journeys can be exhausting.

This trip resulted in the most extraordinary two weeks of my life. Everything, and I mean everything, was absolutely perfect. I had a vision of what I wanted this trip to be and worked with Sherilyn at the travel company to bring that to life. She provided sound advice and created an itinerary that was spot-on.
Throughout the year of planning, Sherilyn was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns I had. I was provided with a very detailed trip itinerary, along with everything I needed to know about traveling to Africa. No stone was left unturned and we were very well-prepared due to all the information provided.
The trip itinerary covered Southern Africa and East Africa. We pulled out all the stops and included as many activities as time would allow. From a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls to a rhino walking safari in Zambia to a hot-air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara in Kenya — none of the activities disappointed.
Every one of the guides we had was excellent. The service we received at the airports, both inbound and outbound, was exceptional. All of the accommodations, including hotels and camps, were amazing and we would definitely stay at any of them again.
This was truly a trip of a lifetime and I don't believe it will ever be outdone. Thank you, Zicasso, for connecting me with this travel company.
